I’ve finally started to go through some pictures

I’ve finally started to go through some pictures from South Korea and Japan (it was about time!).Although South Korea was an unplanned trip (to be fair like most of my trips) and without many expectations for it, I have to admit that I had a blast! The locals are very nice and friendly, Seoul is filled with lights, markets and things to do, I managed to meet some lovely people, make great friendships and even had a peek at North Korea!It’s true that South Koreans are veeeery into skincare and there were stores over stores dedicated to it everywhere! What also surprised me was its somewhat affordability. Coming from Vietnam, I was scared at how expensive both SK and Japan were going to be but all the prices surprised me in a good way!I definitely recommend you add South Korea to your list because you won’t regret it!

Some Black&W memories from Vietnam. I have been so busy exploring and enjoying Seoul and Japan that I forgot to share these pictures from my last days in Vietnam. Black and White is not something I use often but I had lots of fun with it. It immediately created a very unique vibe and it gave the shots a different life, as if that moment was lost in time.

One of the highlights of my time here in Vietnam h

One of the highlights of my time here in Vietnam has been visiting Ha Long Bay. I spent 3 nights on Cat Ba Island and took a daily boat tour along this breathtaking natural creation and it did not disappoint. I’ve heard that for many people it was overrated and too touristy but for me it was magical. When I went the weather was absolutely perfect and we mostly encountered fishing boats. It was slightly busy when we stopped to do some kayaking but other than that it felt like we had the whole place for ourselves. To think that it took Mother Nature 500 million years to create this place, I felt so grateful to be able to admire it and take it all in.The only really bad and heartbreaking thing about visiting this place was seeing trash floating in its beautiful waters. I saw foam boxes, plastic bottles, plastic wraps and other items that didn’t and shouldn’t be there and boats would just pass by them without even attempting to collect them. I really hope that sooner than later we’ll start realising the impact we are having on our planet and to keep finding ways to fix it.

Some more memories from Hoi An, the city of lanterns! I loved how this town can be both quiet/relaxing but also super touristy and busy. It felt magical getting lost in its narrow streets lit up only by hundreds of lanterns hanging from anywhere!

Welcome to Hoi An, the city of lanterns! I truly loved exploring and enjoying this beautiful town filled with colourful lanterns hanging from everywhere. It was also the first town in Vietnam where I felt a more traditional/genuine Vietnamese vibe. Don’t get me wrong, it is very touristy and all the main roads are filled with souvenir shops or restaurants made for tourists. However, it still felt very magical.
Here you can do lantern making classes, cooking classes, I learned how to distinguish real silk from fake/mixture one and also met some really cool and friendly people whom I hope to see again in Italy or around the world. Hoi An is only 30 minutes south of Da Nang which is a nice coastal town and it’s where I decided to stay for a couple of weeks in order to just chill and relax. Definitely another favourite of mine during this trip in Vietnam.

Going through the abyss to then come out being held by the golden hands.
“Poetry” aside, when I went to visit the worldwide famous Golden Hands Bridge in Da Nang, Vietnam, the weather was absolutely beautiful but I decided to add a twist to the shots.
I’ve been in. Vietnam for roughly 10 days although it feels like longer. I definitely miss Australia and still want to go back but I have to admit that Vietnam is truly beautiful and I’ve been enjoying exploring it and getting to meet new people.
Travelling solo is oftentimes a wonderful experience and a very big teacher but it definitely has its challenges.
Sometimes loneliness kicks in very strongly and that’s when I start to doubt whether to continue or to just go back to a safe and comfortable space, wherever that might be.
In addition to this, at the end of the day you only have yourself when having to make decisions, especially on the spot and this can be daunting.
However, I feel extremely grateful for all the experiences that solo travelling has given me and will continue to do it without setting a final date.
