Hello everyone! How have you been going? Sorry for Hello everyone! How have you been going? Sorry for the absence from here 🙈 ⁣
I decided to take a break between the end and the beginning of the year but didn’t think it would have lasted this long. But it’s okay. ⁣
Life is looking busier right now and I’m trying to learn how to manage everything in a healthy and not too stressful way. Hence my lack of posting on here.⁣
⁣
However, I really wanted to share something with you and, luckily, last week I went to the Wollemi National Park in search of some glowworms!⁣
Have you ever seen or heard about them?⁣
Glowworm is the common name for various groups of insect larvae that glow through bioluminescence. One of these groups is endemic to Australia and New Zealand and you can often find them in caves or sheltered places in forests. ⁣
They spin a nest out of silk on the ceiling of the cave and then hangs down as many as 70 threads of silk from around the nest. They then use their light to attract and capture prey. ⁣
⁣
I first saw them while exploring Te Anau Caves in New Zealand. We went in them on a boat and then the ceiling lit up with millions of very tiny blue lights! It was truly spectacular!⁣
If you are in New Zealand and want to see them for free, you can go to Glowworm Dell in Hokitika or at the Wellington Botanical Gardens. ⁣
If you are around Sydney, I highly suggest you checking out this Glowworm Tunnel in the Wollemi National Park. ⁣
Seeing them was truly magical and I couldn’t stop staring at them! ⁣
It wasn’t easy to take some pics of them but I still gave it a go and I’m pretty satisfied with the end result.⁣

Happy new year you amazing human beings! ⁣ Thank Happy new year you amazing human beings! ⁣
Thank you, thank you, thank you for being such a great community! Your love and support helped, and still does, me so much on a daily basis and keeps me motivated when I feel like giving up!⁣
⁣
What's something you're looking forward to this year?⁣ Something you choose to do?
⁣
For me, I choose to build a better and more healthy relationship with my soul and mind. ⁣
Learn how to take actions that are aligned with my true self and get to know who I am and what I want to do.⁣
And how not to be harsh on me or judge anything I do in a negative way to the point of burning down. ⁣
⁣
This year, I choose to meditate and read more and be kind towards others and me.⁣
Make mistakes, learn from them and then let them go.⁣
Cry more. Many times I feel so bottled up inside and would love to burst into tears and empty my soul. But it rarely happens. ⁣
⁣
I choose to spend less screen time and more Mother Nature time. ⁣
I choose to open myself up to the world, just like ferns do 🌿. ⁣
Lately, I realised I was trying so hard to follow other people's footsteps and highlights.⁣
However, it’s now time that I choose to follow my own ones. ⁣
⁣
Sharing this caption wasn't easy. All these goals feel very overwhelming and scary. ⁣
What-ifs and negative voice are ready to drag me down. ⁣
But, no matter how many tasks I accomplish this year, it's okay. ⁣
Even writing them down felt rewarding and reading them gives me strength. ⁣
⁣
I wish you a magical year. ⁣
One filled with love, gratitude, lessons and growth. ⁣
A year full of moments you can be proud of and time with Mother Nature. ⁣
A year that will leave a smile on your face. ❤️⁣

Ciao 2020 and thank you⁣ ⁣ 2020, a year that h Ciao 2020 and thank you⁣
⁣
2020, a year that has been like a deep fog that hides you and your surroundings, leaving you in a limbo.⁣
One of the most intense and full-on ones we have ever lived.⁣
One that stopped the entire world.⁣
⁣
Many want to cancel 2020.⁣
Truth is, we can’t nor shouldn’t do that.⁣
It shaped us and our planet in such a deep way that it will be hard to simply forget about it.⁣
And that’s okay.⁣
⁣
Because, what if 2020 was the year we had been waiting for? ⁣
A year to grow, change, find joy and gratitude in the simplicity and take a step back from the culture of “keep going and never stop”. ⁣
A year to breathe, learn and look beyond us. ⁣
What if 2020 was the year that both us and the planet needed the most?⁣
⁣
I won’t lie by saying that I didn’t struggle. ⁣
I wanted to give up many times and I wasn’t sure if the life I was living was even worth the hustle. ⁣
But, in the end, I should thank 2020 for what it taught and gave me.⁣
⁣
Despite the challenges, I had the privilege to grow, learn and get older. ⁣
I built meaningful connections with many of you, something that still makes me happy. ⁣
I realised that small moments full of nature or laughter are truly memorable. ⁣
Or that I love feeling like a kid when seeing wild kangaroos or daydreaming.⁣
⁣
In 2021, I want to learn how to build a better relationship with myself, soul and mind. Also thanks to @paolamaugeri ’s teachings. ⁣
How to take actions that are in line with my goals and stop letting people decide for me because I'm afraid to do so.⁣
And how to cry more, whether it's gonna be because of sadness, anxiety or gratitude.⁣
⁣
Don’t feel like you have to fill out an endless list of goals to achieve during the new year. ⁣
Let 2021 be a year to heal, rest, love and gratitude.⁣
In the end, the fog will disappear and let the light shine.
⁣
Finally, I can’t thank you enough for the love, support and warmth you all give me on a daily basis! I couldn’t have asked for a better community and friends! ⁣
I wish you a wonderful end and beginning of the year. Be gentle with yourself and live this time the way your soul and heart desire.⁣
See you next year! ❤️
People might say that I used a bit of Photoshop in People might say that I used a bit of Photoshop in this picture and they are totally right! 😬⁣
.⁣
I just wanted to wish all of you a happy Christmas, Hannukah, holiday or start of the weekend!⁣
Whether you celebrate anything during this time of year or not, I hope you have some enjoyable, relaxing and beautiful days. ⁣
This time of the year can be the most fun for some while it can be very challenging for others. Especially after this full-on and uncertain year.⁣
Some people will spend this time in quarantine, others alone or with only a small number of people while some more, like me, will be away from their family.⁣
.⁣
I’ve spent a few Christmas either alone or away from my family. It was due to some decisions I had made and was part of the life chapter I was living at that moment.⁣
This year, though, it feels weird and very bittersweet. ⁣
Especially because the situation in Italy is not ideal and my small town saw a big jump in cases. But I know and want to believe that it will get better. ⁣
There are many things to be grateful for and I’m trying to focus my attention more on those. ⁣
Getting to this day without having gone crazy is one of them!⁣
.⁣
If you are struggling during this time, you are not alone. ⁣
Do something that can help you relax and unwind. Or do something "silly", just like me with and in these shots!⁣
Feel and be with Mother Nature if you can.⁣
Also, don’t forget to be kind to yourself. It’s one of the best gifts you can give to your soul.⁣

I still think that this is one of the most beautif I still think that this is one of the most beautiful spots in @sydney! It’s called “Lookout to the Opera House” in Kirribilli and the name says it all!⁣
While there, I couldn’t stop dreaming about how beautiful it would have been to see the fireworks from here. However, for this year, the area is gonna be fenced off. Which is the right thing to do, especially considering the new outbreak of cases that is happening in Sydney.⁣
It feels very tough to think about it when we are so close to Christmas and the whole country was doing so well. ⁣
But the number of cases seems to be already going in the right direction. And I’m sure the situation will get under control and, hopefully, people will get better soon. ⁣
.⁣
Speaking of this picture, I took it without using a tripod. Because of this, I decided to push myself with the ISO and go for 3200. ⁣
I wouldn't have done it with my previous camera, but the @canonaustralia 6D is pretty good at dealing with noise so I went ahead with this choice. And let me tell you, I loved it!⁣
My main goal was to just experiment and have fun without following a fixed concept. ⁣
It felt so liberating to move around, try new angles, struggle with the manual focus and trying to adjust the shadows and highlights. ⁣
I didn’t want to leave the place at all!⁣
.⁣
During these last days of 2020, take your camera, pencil or something that you enjoy doing and do it with no expectations. Let your inner self guide you and see what comes out!⁣
After all “You will have to experiment and try things out for yourself and you will not be sure of what you are doing. That's all right, you are feeling your way into the thing. (Emily Carr)”⁣

Perfection⁣ .⁣ While re-editing this shot from Perfection⁣
.⁣
While re-editing this shot from New Zealand, I started thinking about the idea of perfection. On that day, I also listened to @paolamaugeri ’s podcast episode about this topic and I’d love to share some of her and my thoughts with you.⁣
.⁣
We live in a society where most people praise and try to reach “perfection”. At school, home, work and on social media, we are often taught to strive for it, to be the best of the best and to aspire at being better than or like someone else. Because by doing so, we can reach and live a perfect and admirable life. ⁣
But when we do something perfectly, people start telling us “not to rest on our laurels” and that there will always be a more perfect stage to get to.⁣
.⁣
In reality, the idea of perfection creates competition, comparison and doesn’t make us appreciate our uniqueness. ⁣
We start thinking that we won’t be loved if we don’t look or act like them or don’t have what they have. Our worth gets valued based on the look and material things rather than our actions and personality. ⁣
Because of this, we end up reaching a point where we either collide with our true and inner self, or we become a clone of someone else. ⁣
This is why this shot makes me think about this situation, as it can depict both scenarios.⁣
.⁣
I’ve collided with my true self multiple times. And it hurt.⁣
My body and soul couldn’t take it anymore and turned these collisions into severe panic attacks. Yet, I still tend to compare myself to others and feel like my life is not as worth as theirs. And the desire of living their exact life pops in. ⁣
But, the more I realise it, the more I want to work on it. ⁣
We should strive to be real, not perfect.⁣
.⁣
I'd like to end with the question written by Thomas D'Ansembourg that Paola shared (translated from Italian):⁣
.⁣
If I felt truly and deeply confident in myself, totally reassured that I am loved and respected as I am, with my flaws and qualities, and if I loved myself so solidly, with my lights and my shadows, wouldn't I do a little less to change myself so I can savour my life more?
